Hello! I'm Marissa Monét, Founder, Owner and Lead Consultant at Indigo Child
MARISSA'S STORY
"Starting this business was a long-held dream of mine. I aim to help other individuals similar to myself when I first set out on my own spiritual journey. The goal of Indigo Child is to bolster the existing spiritual community, while offering guidance to those feeling unsure."
Spiritual Growth
I have been practicing spirituality and divination of some form since I was 12 years old. Driven by my quest for knowledge outside of my understanding; a passion for mythology & my cultural traditions; and the open-minded influences of my parents; my spiritual journey has been a vivid tapestry of various faiths, belief systems, theologies, and philosophies.
In my years of practice, I have learned many different kinds of spirituality including: my own connection to divination, my family's cultural traditions in the spirituality of the African diaspora, hoodoo and traditional Indigenous medicines. I am also versed in Celtic & Norse traditions, along with magicks related to modern day Wicca, and some Eastern & traditional Asian medicines.
Embarking on my inward divination journey in 2012, I began offering informal services and advice to others by 2015. In February 2023, I turned this passion into a full-time professional endeavor by establishing Indigo Child—a reflection of my personal growth as a spiritual practitioner and divination reader.

Intentional Space
My vision for this space is to provide a safe haven for individuals from a diverse array of spiritual backgrounds; fostering learning without unintentional harm or cultural appropriation. I wanted to create a space in my community where people of all walks of spirituality have a safe space to learn what it is they are drawn to within the realm of spirituality. I aim to offer services where you can gain the resources to explore various perspectives and the cultural traditions, free from judgment.
At Indigo Child, we embrace genuine spiritual exploration. Steering clear of toxic positivity trends often found in some spiritual social media circles. My ultimate goal is to delve into metaphysics, continuously expanding knowledge and sharing this journey with our community. Our goals are NEVER to bash you for your zodiac sun or moon sign, or to tell you that nothing should phase you if you are truly aligned spiritually. Your Spirit is an ever-changing part of you that should be honored and celebrated at each phase of your story.
"Many feel overwhelmed at the onset of their spiritual journey, swamped with information from a wide variety of sources. I believe everyone should have access to methods that help them align with their beliefs."

The term 'Indigo Child,' initially coined in the 1970s and then revived in the late 1990s, refers to children believed to possess unique and supernatural traits. These include extreme empathy, sensitivity, high intuition, psychic abilities, innate spirituality, a deep desire to contribute to the world, a special connection with animals and nature, stubbornness, and a sense of being an outsider with an overall awareness of uniqueness and a destined purpose.
Personally embodying these traits, I chose the name 'Indigo Child' not only for its descriptive accuracy but also for the association with the chakra colors linked to creativity and intuition. As an Aquarius, I thrive on the creative energy associated with the third eye, and it has been my dream to share that creativity with you all.
The Indigo Child logo embodies three main themes. The 7-pointed star represents: the four cardinal directions, the inner world (self), the outer world ("heavens"/sky world/etc.), and time. The eye represents the all seeing eye on the pyramids and the evil eye—which wards off negativity. And the six nails are for the years it took me to hone my gifts in a professional capacity and the ancestors I believe shared this gift with me.
